Put down your boxes and stop what you’re doing - you may just need the kettle and tea bags you've packed up.

This is your moving day survival kit and trust us when we say you will thank your previous self for preparing one.

From your kitchen

  • Tea and coffee (for you and the removals team)
  • Kettle
  • Disposable cups plates and cutlery (so you don’t have to wash up)
  • Sugar
  • Bottled water
  • Snacks (so you don’t get hangry!)
  • Pre-prepared tea or takeaway menus.
  • Provisions for next day’s breakfast
  • Knife or scissors (to open up your boxes)
  • Bin bags
  • A bottle of bubbly (to toast your first night in your new home)
  • Bottle opener (so you can actually open the bottle)

 From your bedroom

  • Bed linen
  • Duvet and pillows
  • Change of clothes
  • Pyjamas
  • Phone and phone chargers
  • Laptop and laptop charger

From your bathroom

  • Towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Soap
  • First aid kit
  • Medication you may take
  • Wet wipes (for cleaning use)
  • Toiletries (essential ones)

Other bits and bobs

  • Pen and paper
  • Torch with fresh batteries
  • Duct tape
  • Pet food (if you’ve got pets)
  • Money (so you can pay for a takeaway if you fancy one)
  • Screwdriver

If you’ve got children...

  • A few books or games to keep them entertained
  • A few soft toys to keep them comfortable
  • Baby changing supplies
  • Food

With all of these items packed in your moving day survival kit, you can be assured that things can run as smoothly as possible, and you can sit back and relax the first night in your lovely new home.
